The Best Panoramic Spots in Berlin (Personally Tested)

Want to see Berlin from above? Whether you’re a local or it’s your first time in the city, there’s something magical about taking in the skyline from a bird’s-eye view. We personally explored the best panoramic viewpoints in Berlin. Here’s a list of our favorite spots – all personally tested and with options for every budget.

TV tower at Alexanderplatz

Rising 368 meters above the city, the Berlin TV Tower is Europe’s tallest building open to the public – and a must-visit for panoramic views.

You’ve got two ways to enjoy the skyline:

  • Observation Deck (203m):

  • * Open daily from 9 AM to 11 PM, with tickets starting around €30. A stylish bar is located on the deck, and access is included with your ticket.

  • * Restaurant “Sphere” (207m):

  • * Currently closed and reopening in June 2025 under Michelin-starred chef Tim Raue. The restaurant rotates 360° every 30 minutes, offering diners a constantly shifting view of Berlin.

  • Tip: Book online to skip the lines – weekday mornings or evenings are usually the quietest.

World Balloon

Located near the historic Checkpoint Charlie, the World Balloon is one of the largest tethered passenger balloons in the world. It ascends up to 150 meters, offering stunning panoramic views over Berlin.

On a clear day, you can even spot Teufelsberg in the distance.

A 15-minute flight costs €30 per adult – and it’s an experience you won’t forget.

Note: The balloon does not operate in high winds or bad weather, so it’s worth checking conditions before your visit.

Our Highlight: “The New Berlin City” Helicopter Ride

by Air Service Berlin

The most exclusive experience on this list, this premium helicopter sightseeing tour lets you see Berlin like never before – from the sky.

The full experience lasts around 60 minutes, including a limousine transfer from BER Airport to Strausberg Airfield, where your adventure begins. The flight itself lasts 30 minutes, soaring over Berlin’s skyline and giving you a breathtaking view of the city’s sprawling metropolitan beauty.

Prices start at €198 per person, and for the ultimate view, you can book the seat next to the pilot for an additional €55 – no one blocking your view, just unobstructed skies and the city below.

A once-in-a-lifetime experience you truly shouldn’t miss.

Panoramapunkt Berlin

Located right at Potsdamer Platz, Panoramapunkt offers a great view over Berlin’s most iconic landmarks – including the Brandenburg Gate, Tiergarten, and the Reichstag.

One of its highlights? Europe’s fastest elevator, which whisks you up to the viewing platform in just 20 seconds.

Fun fact: When we visited, the “liftboy” was a former opera singer —and he sang for us on the way up!

Once at the top, you’ll also find a charming café where you can relax with a tea and a slice of cake, all while taking in the skyline of the German capital.

Tickets start at just €7 per person, making this one of the most affordable ways to enjoy Berlin from above.

Cold War Spy Station on Devil’s Mountain

A bit outside central Berlin, Teufelsberg (Devil’s Mountain) offers stunning views over the city and the surrounding forests. This artificial hill is topped with a former NSA listening station used during the Cold War.

Today, visitors can not only enjoy panoramic city and nature views, but also explore the site’s unique atmosphere, where the old structures are now covered in colorful graffiti.
